Brittany is a Board Certified Nutritionist Specialist (CNS) and completed her Master’s in Nutrition & Integrative Health at Maryland University of Integrative Health, with a focus in clinical nutrition. She also received her BS in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington and is a NASM certified personal trainer.
Brittany is passionate about helping people with an integrative and functional approach to nutrition, utilizing whole foods and supplements to improve health. Rather than treating symptoms she tries to find the root cause of what is going on within the body, while focusing on the whole person – not just individual parts. Brittany combines medical nutrition therapy and health coaching to help deliver lasting lifestyle changes.
In 2008 Brittany was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and in the following years she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and multiple food sensitivities, which prompted her interest in nutrition. After she struggled with her own digestive issues for years while doctors told her she was 100% healthy, she decided to extensively research nutrition and go back to school because she knew something wasn’t right. Brittany learned first hand the power of nutritional therapeutic interventions to heal the root cause, and not just treat her symptoms. Brittany encourages people to be their own health advocate, and if they feel like something isn’t quite right to keep searching for answers.
In her free time Brittany enjoys being outside, hiking, skiing, riding horses, weight lifting, and hot yoga. In addition to seeing clients at her office at Flying Horse Medical Center in Colorado Springs, CO she also works with clients over the phone and through video conferencing.
